Lyre’s was founded by Australian born Mark Livings in 2017 after he realised that balancing his professional life with the need to stay social was challenging. He also saw that the alcohol-free options presented in these social situations always involved a compromise.
Lyre’s was created to give the freedom of a delicious, sophisticated, alcohol-free drink without compromising on taste and allowing those that choose to try alcohol-free to stay social.
There are 13 different spirits in the Lyre’s range, from Absinthe to spiced rum and so many more. The July Undrunk box features the Italian Spritz which is an alcohol-free take on the classic Aperol.
In recent years, Lyre’s has become the most awarded non-alcoholic spirit brand in the world, which just goes to show how fantastic they are.
The name Lyre’s comes from the Australian Lyrebird which is the greatest mimic of the animal kingdom. The Superb Lyrebird (we didn’t make that up, they are actually called superb) can mimic the songs of other birds and other noises in their environment, with some reports of them mimicking the sound of a car engine! The Lyrebird in the Lyre’s logo is called Horatio and he wears a glorious top hat!
The Lyre’s team have worked with some of the world’s most recognised sommeliers, and over the last few years created these impossibly crafted non-alcoholic spirits which combine natural essences, extracts and distillates to match the aroma, taste, appearance and tell-tale burn of time-tested spirits.
Lyre’s drinks are designed to mimic the taste, bouquet and mouthfeel of their alcoholic originals entirely in a non-alcoholic format, and with their extensive range of 13 different spirits there is always something new to try. From the Green Fairy, Absinthe, to a pirate’s staple, Rum, Lyres has a spirit for everyone.
Each spirit has its own unique character and mascot; a different anthropomorphic animal native to the region of the original spirit Lyre’s is paying tribute. Take a look at them all on their website and let us know your favourite!
As they say at Lyre’s:
Stay spirited. Drink free
